This past weekend Tucker and I had the pleasure to visit the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte North Carolina. It was amazing, seeing the story of his life and the legacy he left was challenging. The Graham family has been one of the greatest influences on my life for years. From Ruth Bell Graham’s prayer “ Let Him Be Like Thee” to Operation Christmas Child this family of ministry has helped me grow in my faith and desire to share Christ with the world. As a 13 year old girl I made a commitment to pray for my future husband, this was something that was written on my heart and encouraged by my parents. The beginning of my prayers steamed from this prayer. I remember countless times on my knees uttering the words “And when he comes; as he will come. With quiet eyes aglow. I’ll understand that he’s the man I prayed for long ago.” 10 years later I see the faithfulness of God showing up as I am now married to a wonderful godly man I prayed for! The influence of this family doesn’t stop there. Operation Christmas Child has always been a huge part of my life. During middle school and high school I was a part of an “OCC Leadership Team” and continued to grow my love for mission and sharing the gospel by meeting practical needs.

Just typing my own story out gives me such a greater perspective of what ONE PERSON can do when they leave their yes on the table for God. The 99 years Billy Graham was on earth was a time of impactful ministry, but the effects lasted longer than his life. That is the power of the gospel. It carries on a legacy past your lifetime. To do something that matters for eternity is what matters most.

"Some day you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God." -Billy Graham

How powerful! Billy understood that earth was just a short term stay before the ultimate destination. Heaven is the home of every believer in Christ. It is so easy to get caught up in the things of this world, but we must continue to set our eyes on things above. Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ is the best thing we can ever do with our time.

I thank God for this time of encouragement and inspiration, what a meaningful day!

All smiles before going into the Billy Graham Library!!
