2022 Surrender Recap

Writer's picture: Landis GibsonLandis Gibson

The year is coming to an end which means so many different things. We pause and take a moment to celebrate all God has done and ask Him to move again in the new year!

So, before you start making a long list of resolutions for 2023, let’s take a second to say thank you for 2022.

In 2022 I chose the word Surrender. I had been struggling with things going in an unexpected direction. I was trying to trust God but still pulling out my plan and saying “I think this would be best”.  My way is never His way. His ways are better. So, this year I asked God to help me live totally anchored and fully surrendered. It was not perfect, but there was progress.

This year a lot happened, but God was preparing me long before I knew what was coming.

In 2022….

•I read my Bible more…. not every day but more

•I changed jobs

•Tucker and I stared leading a Young Married Life Group and made some of the BEST couple friends!

•Tucker changed jobs

•I started working out constantly

•We moved

•We officially joined a new Church

•I had my first Set Apart Living Event

& So much more!!

These are some “highlights”. Don’t be deceived, there were bad days, hurtful situations, and a lot of hard things to work through in the midst of all the new things!

Through it all I could see God’s hand. How He led me to surrender my idea for a job, a house, friendships, community, etc. It was a refining process but I know each and everything that happened was for my good and for His glory!

So, I say thank you Jesus!

Thank you for new friends!

Thank you for a wonderful Church!

Thank you for a beautiful home we love!

Thank you for the jobs the needed!

Thank you for the ability to work out!

Thank you for the joy of getting in the Word!

And one a real note…

Thank you for teaching me to use dry shampoo!

Thank you for inventing Marco Polo for long distance friendships!

& Thank you for letting me only flop a handful out of hundreds of cakes I baked this year!

Everything I have is yours, so thank you for lending me a good life!
