How is God calling to you to be Set Apart in your current season of life?
"This past year has been full of changes for me with marriage, loss, moving, new jobs, and new community. I have had to continually draw myself back at every turn and examine my heart. My prayer has been found in Psalm 139:23-24.
Psalm 139:23-24
"[23] Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
[24] And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!"
Asking the Lord to search me, know me, and try me has been the most reassuring thing as He is the tester of hearts (Jeremiah 17:10). Its a hard, but gracious prayer. It’s hard because His hand is gentle, but it’s also firm and refining. Graciously, He leads me to the way of everlasting. I’ve had to rest in other truths about my heart too: He the strength of my heart and my portion forever (Psalm 73:26). He is greater than my heart (1 John 3:20). Not only is He the tester of hearts, but He also never changes and never wavers like I do. These truths of His faithfulness have been the theme of my year! The Lord is calling me to be Set Apart by reminding me to cling to the never changing cross of Christ, the Constant One. "
Bri, thank you so much! Your words truly touched my heart. Seasons of change and loss are hard, so hard. To remember that God is the faithful one is a promise to cling to in every season of life. Your words are an encouragement, as always.
