Hello Ladies! Thank you so much for following along with my simple blog posts. It means so much to me that you are here. I am participating in a book club/Bible Study on this book "Forgiving What You Can't Forget" by Lysa Terkeurst. In the Facebook group, we are discussing our thoughts and reflections on each chapter/week's assignments. There are so many good things to learn from this book. I highly encourage you to read it yourself. Yet, if you are in a busy season and that is not possible, hopefully, this can be a quicker space to learn something good.

Each week I will be sharing a few things I shared in the small group here as well. If you want to dive deeper I'll link a few ways to do so:

The weekly teaching videos from Lysa. Here is Session 1:

You can purchase the book anywhere the book is sold, or it is an easy delivery from Amazon.

I have found "The Forgiveness Journal" to be such a helpful addition to the book. If you love to journal, you do not want to read this book without it. It also can be found on Amazon.

Okay now to the reflection:

Week one was so good. I hope y'all enjoyed it as much as I did. Here are a few of my thoughts and takeaways. I can't wait to hear yours as well.

"The more our pain consumes us, the more it will control us." This spoke to me. It probably is a big reason we are all here. Picking up this book/study is a step towards healing and holiness. Wanting to heal is a good thing, yet it takes time. Understanding that WE don't want to stay in the hole of unforgiveness is vital. But why? Because the pain consuming is controlling. I want to be controlled by much better things than pain, don't you?

So here's to recognizing the negative and even ungodly effect that unforgiveness and pain have on our lives. This is the first step. Seeing the effects and deciding you don't want to live this way.

I know she talked a lot about you deciding how you want to move forward and the way God allows us to do that. What does that look like for you? I want to applaud you for being here and taking the first step. We know our God is a God of beauty and redemption, He will make all things beautiful again in His timing. Praying we all can see that today and work towards forgiveness together.
